UK consumers received a much needed boost to their income in 2009 thanks to cash for old CDs, DVDs and games website Musicmagpie.co.uk, which has just announced that it has paid out a grand total of over £3 Million to its users since it launched.

“2009 was a very difficult year for many people, the effect of the recession meant that everyone started to look for different sources of income and an old music, film or game collection was a great place to start,” commented Steve Oliver, Managing Director of Musicmagpie.co.uk.

Musicmagpie.co.uk’s online services continue to attract new users looking to top up their income and clear out clutter by getting rid of their unwanted CDs, DVDs and games. The site expects to have paid out an additional £5 million before the end of the year.

Steve Oliver continued: “When we launched Musicmagpie.co.uk we had no idea how popular it would become but it is obvious that nearly everyone has a pile of old CDs, DVDs or games that they no longer want but don’t know what to do with them. That’s where Musicmagpie.co.uk comes in - it’s free as well as very easy to use.”
