Wreck it Ralph Bashes its way onto DVD
Disney favorite arrives on disc
For my money, Wreck it Ralph was the best animation of last year, it may have been pipped by Brave in the race for the Best Animation Oscar but in terms of story, inventiveness and memorable characters, Wreck it Ralph is the clear winner.
If you haven't seen it yet then you'll be pleased to know that Wreck it Ralph will be yours to take home from this week, and it's going to be available in plenty of different versions. If you just want the film then no-problem, Disney has you covered with a non-fuss DVD release complete with absolutely no special features.
If however you want to delve a little deeper into the world of Wreck it Ralph then there's a two-disc collector's edition release which will be available on DVD and Blu-ray and for those whose love for the film knows no bounds there's a four-disc Ultimate Collector's Edition release which is available on DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and digital copy - plenty to be getting on with there.
On board the various special editions there are some great special features such as 'Bit by Bit: Creating the Worlds of Wreck-it Ralph', in-case the title didn't give it away, this gives us an insight into the artist's world and we hear from the people responsible for bringing Game Central Station to Life.
Other special features include Alternate and Deleted Scenes and some rather commercials of teh video games featured in the movie.
Perhaps the most exciting special feature is the Oscar winning animated short 'Paperman' from Walt Disney Animation studios. It's a sweet little film that tells the story of a young man who sees what he believes to be the woman of his dreams in an office across the street, the narrative then follows his attempts to get her attention. You can check out the trailer for this short below - if you've never seen a Disney short before then this is a great place to start.
As for Wreck-it Ralph, well you're not likely to see a better animation in terms of originality for a while, so this story of a video game bad guy who longs to be a hero is well worth checking out as it provides plenty of laughs for both adults and children.
